Learning outcomes
PLO 9. To characterize theoretical (concepts, categories, principles, basic concepts, etc.) principles and practical aspects of a Ukrainian language and literature.
PLO 13. To explain the essence of specific linguistic issues and one’s own point of view and its justification to the experts and laypeople in an accessible and argumentative manner, in particular to individuals who are studying.
PLO 20. To organize the process of teaching Ukrainian as a foreign language, taking into account psychological, pedagogical and methodological principles (according to the selective block "Ukrainian language in higher education institutions").

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Proficiency in the Ukrainian language at a level sufficient to listen to lectures and create their own teaching materials in the Ukrainian language for foreign students, successful completion of theoretical disciplines taught during the first year of the master's program.
Course content
The discipline deepens knowledge of the structural organization of speech activity (SA); directs students to consciously manage their learning activities; informs about various approaches to teaching Ukrainian as a foreign language; outlines the speech and activity approach in modern linguodidactics; introduces future teachers to the methods of developing basic skills and abilities in different types of SA; prepares for the creation of teaching and learning materials taking into account the contingent of foreign students; introduces them to the methods of improving the exercises and tasks available in textbooks in accordance with a specific learning goal; teaches them to adapt texts in accordance with the learning goal, taking into account the leading type of SA.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Forms of study: lectures, practical classes, independent work.
Teaching methods: explanation of new material, discussion, response to a classmate's answer, analysis of own learning experience, collective analysis of educational material from textbooks and manuals on the Ukrainian language for foreigners, independent analysis of tasks from textbooks and manuals related to the type of speech activity leading in the class.
Assessment methods and criteria
Oral answers in practical classes, participation in discussions, written homework, a project presentation of the lesson, and module tests.
