PRN 1. Know the main historical stages of development of the subject area. PRN 19. To be able to characterize natural landscapes and regions PRN 20. Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful completion of the course "Study of terrain and geological structure", "Biogeographical and soil science studies". Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of the formation of natural laws geographic zoning and altitudinal belt. Mastery of elementary skills of analysis, synthesis, induction and deduction.
Course content
The discipline is aimed at forming students' deep comprehensive knowledge about features of the nature of Europe, North America, the Arctic, as well as the North Arctic and Atlantic oceans. Emphasis on the analysis of natural conditions and resources, flora conservation issues, fauna and natural landscapes as a whole. Functional block of discipline involves the mastery of such components as the ability to use geographical concepts, concepts, theories, ideas, principles for explaining phenomena and processes at different spatial levels from global to local and implement their own rights and responsibilities as a member of society, understand and explain sustainable strategy development of mankind.
