Prerequisites and co-requisites
Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of linguistics. Successful completion of the disciplines "Morphology and Syntax of the Ukrainian Language in the Functional Aspect" and "Practical Course of the Ukrainian Language: Professional Level".
Course content
The course deepens and systematizes students' knowledge of functional grammar acquired during the course "Morphology and Syntax of the Ukrainian Language in the Functional Aspect", helps foreigners master the laws of functioning of language units in the process of communication activity and thus prepares master's students for the qualifying exam. The course is structured into 2 modules. The first one forms a professional understanding of the parts of speech as a subject of practical grammar, and the second one deepens knowledge of the classification of complex sentences in Ukrainian in the functional aspect and ways of expressing the relations of condition, purpose, admission, cause, effect in simple and complex sentences in Ukrainian.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Forms of study: practical classes, independent work. Teaching methods: explanation of new material, conversation, review of a classmate's answer, collective morphological and syntactic analysis, interactive methods (work in pairs, small groups).
Assessment methods and criteria
