Possession of the basics of remote sensing of the Earth
Course content
The course is aimed at studying the Earth's surface with the help of aerial and space images and skills in correcting the data with photogrammetric data. Improving the quality of visual perception of the image. Spatial transformation and filtering in the image area. Methods of correction of geometric distortions. Perspective models. Multi-zone data conversion. RGB clustering. GIS analysis of raster and vector data. QGIS data processing software packages and EarthExplorer and EO Browser sites. Creation of various-scale cartographic materials, including maps and orthophotos.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, practical classes and independent work of the student
Assessment methods and criteria
The results of students' learning activities are evaluated on a 100-point scale. The evaluation is carried out according to the accumulative system and includes: 2 modular tests each evaluated at 25 points (boundary evaluation 14 points) 30 points were awarded for work in practical classes (18-point limit). Final evaluation in the form of a test: maximum score of 20 points, marginal score of 12 points. During the test, the student performs tasks using knowledge and skills of modern methods and technologies of data processing of remote sensing of the Earth. The test is set based on the results of the student's work throughout the semester, as the sum (simple or weighted) of points for systematic work in practical classes, writing module tests and processing lecture material during the semester.
