Learning outcomes
PTR 1. To freely communicate in Ukrainian and Russian languages in the
professional sphere with specialists and non-specialists orally and in writing, to use
those languages for effective intercultural communication organisation.
PTR 5. To collaborate with colleagues, representatives of other cultures and
religions, supporters of different political views, etc.
PTR 14. To use Ukrainian in verbal and written form, in different genre-style varieties and registers of communication (official, informal, neutral), to solve communicative tasks in everyday, social, educational, professional, scientific spheres of life.

Mastery of the Ukrainian language at a basic level.
Course content
The discipline forms students' professional understanding of the essence of human communication activity, the nature, components and forms of communication, features of verbal and non-verbal communication code, the influence of national and cultural factors on the communication process.
The discipline gives an idea of the nature and functions of communication in society, the differences between human and animal communication, trends in the development of modern communication, features of verbal and non-verbal communication codes, national and cultural specifics of speech behaviour, etc. The discipline is also aimed at expanding students' vocabulary, improving the general educational and cultural level of foreign students.
