Learning outcomes
LO3. Apply modern methods and technologies, particularly information technologies, to successfully and effectively carry out professional activities and ensure the quality of scientific research in the field of Turkish philology.
LO7. Analyze, compare, and classify various trends and schools in Turkish linguistics.
LO9. Describe the theoretical foundations (concepts, categories, principles, basic notions, etc.) and applied aspects of Turkish philology.
LO11. Conduct scientific analysis of linguistic and literary material, interpret and structure it in accordance with appropriate methodological principles, and formulate generalizations based on independently processed data.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful completion of specialized courses during previous semesters.
2. Knowledge of the phonetic rules, grammatical structures, and syntactic rules of the Turkish language.
3. Mastery of the fundamentals of research methods.
Course content
The course “Methodology of Research in Oriental Languages and Literatures” is one of the components of the comprehensive training program in the field of study 035 – Philology, specialization “Philology (Oriental Languages and Literatures, including Translation), with Turkish as the primary language.” The subject of study is the methods, techniques, and methodology of linguistic and literary research within the framework of organizing scientific research activities; students master the conceptual and terminological framework of scientific activity; become familiar with the state of scientific activity in Ukraine and worldwide; with electronic and Internet information resources; master the system of working with library and bibliographic information sources; and learn the procedures for formatting scientific research. This discipline is a logical continuation of the specialized subjects included in the training cycle for students of Turkology pursuing a Bachelor’s degree. As a research component of the educational program, the course “Methodology of Research in Eastern Languages and Literature” employs seminar methods and techniques that foster the development and refinement of master’s students’ research skills.
The course is taught through lectures and seminars in Ukrainian and Turkish. It is offered in the second semester of the first year of the master’s program and concludes with a final exam upon completion of the course.

Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the material learned, in particular, assessment of theoretical training - learning outcomes (knowledge), which accounts for 60% of the total grade, and assessment of practical training - learning outcomes (skills); (communication); (autonomy and responsibility), which accounts for 40% of the total grade.
Assessment of semester work:
1. Oral response in seminar classes: 7 - 14 points.
2. Presentation: 9 - 15 points.
3. Module test №1: 10 - 16 points.
4. Independent work with Internet resources: 20 - 35 points.
5. Module test №2: 14 - 20 points.
6. Credit: 12 - 20 points.
