Learning outcomes
LO2. Demonstrate proficiency in the national language, Turkish, and English for written and oral communication, particularly in professional and academic contexts; present research findings in the national language, Turkish, and English.
LO6. Apply knowledge of expressive, emotional, and logical language tools and speech techniques to achieve a planned pragmatic outcome and facilitate successful communication.
LO10. Collect and systematize linguistic, literary, and folkloric data; interpret and translate Turkish and English texts of various styles and genres.
LO19. Apply knowledge of the theory and methodology of translation, including literary translation, in practical and research activities.
LO20. Master the basic methods of teaching translation from Turkish into Ukrainian and vice versa in higher education.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Knowledge of the program material on the topics covered by the curriculum.
Skills: to produce and competently organize own English-language discourse on topics defined by the program, to conduct a dialogue, discussion, debate; to analyze, compare, contrast linguistic phenomena; to analyze and comment on original English scientific, professional and socio-political texts.
Skills: participation in dialogue, discussion, debate on topics defined by the program, production of oral / written speech using scientific, professional and common phraseology and paremiology.
Course content
The course "Communication Strategies and Translation" is designed for undergraduate students of universities, institutes/faculties of foreign languages who study English as a second language. The course includes 4 thematic modules devoted to the study of theoretical and practical aspects of communication in English, taking into account its ethno- and socio-cultural characteristics, as well as ways of translating and editing messages/texts. To study the discipline during classroom classes (seminars), the following types of educational practices are planned: message, report, presentation, dialog, discussion, debate, round table, role-playing game. Independent work includes preparing 1 scientific presentation and completing 1 educational project. The forms of control are pedagogical observation, oral questioning, homework check, quiz, test, ICR, monitoring and verification of the training project, exam.

Assessment methods and criteria
The final assessment takes place in the form of an exam and is based on the number of points of semester control. Assessment of theoretical training - learning outcomes (knowledge), which is 40% of the total grade, and assessment of practical training - learning outcomes (skills), which is 60% of the total grade.
Assessment of semester work:
1. Work during practical classes: 10 - 16 points.
2. Completion of homework: 10 - 16 points.
3. Presentation of a scientific report: 2 - 5 points.
4. Completion of a training project: 2 - 5 points.
4. Module control work: 5 - 10 points.
5. Exam: 24 - 40 points.
