LO3. Apply modern methods and technologies, particularly information technologies, to successfully and effectively carry out professional activities and ensure the quality of scientific research in the field of Turkish philology. LO10. Collect and systematize linguistic, literary, and folkloric data; interpret and translate Turkish and English texts of various styles and genres. LO14. Create, analyze, and edit texts of various styles and genres. LO 19. Apply knowledge of translation theory and methodology, including literary translation, in practical and research activities. LO 20. Master the basic methods of teaching translation from Turkish into Ukrainian and vice versa in higher education.

Full-time form

Prerequisites: 1. Prior completion of the courses “Introduction to Linguistics,” “General Theory of Translation,” and “Comparative Stylistics.” 2. Knowledge of modern methods and techniques for using ICT in various areas of professional translation. 3. International standards for translation services. Be able to: 1. Work with automated data processing systems and design innovative online courses. 2. Basic proficiency with professional software interfaces (SDL Trados, MemoQ, Phrase). 3. Work with corpus linguistics and terminology verification tools. Possess: 1. Skills to critically evaluate and correct the results of artificial intelligence. 2. Skills to translate texts of various genres (scientific and technical, legal, journalistic) while adhering to the appropriate terminology.

The course “Oral and Written Translation of Turkish Using IT Technologies” is a required component of the master’s program in “Eastern Philology, Western European Languages and Translation: Turkish Language and Literature” and is taught in the first semester. The course aims to comprehensively develop the professional competence of future Turkish translators by deepening their knowledge of translation methodology and practical tools. Particular attention is paid to the integration of specialized software and digital resources into the workflow to enhance its efficiency and quality. The course systematizes practical experience in Turkish-Ukrainian translation, ensuring the training of specialists capable of solving professional tasks in accordance with modern linguistic and technological requirements.

Practical sessions; independent study.

Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the material learned, in particular, the assessment of theoretical training - learning outcomes (knowledge), which accounts for 40% of the total grade, and the assessment of practical training - learning outcomes (skills), which accounts for 60% of the total grade. Assessment of semester work: Interpretation: 12-20 points. Written translation with the use of dictionaries, Internet resources: 4-12 points. Test paper: 14-20 points. Independent work on adaptation and editing of the translated text: 5-8 points. Exam: 24-40 points.
