Learning outcomes
PLO 8. Know and understand the structure and history of the Russian language and be able to apply this knowledge in professional practice. PLO 12. Analyze linguistic units, identify their interactions, and characterize the linguistic phenomena and processes that underlie them. PLO 14. Use the Russian language in oral and written form, in various genres, styles, and registers of communication (formal, informal, and neutral), to solve communicative tasks in everyday, social, educational, professional, and scientific spheres of life. PLO 25. Organize the process of teaching Russian as a foreign language, taking into account appropriate teaching methodologies.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful mastery of theoretical and practical courses of the Russian language and the basics of teaching it as a foreign language, which were taught over six semesters of study.
Course content
The aim of the course is to help students develop a systematic understanding of the phraseological corpus of the Russian language, the main trends in the development of modern phraseology, the principles of organizing idioms, to expand and deepen knowledge about the pragmatic conditions for the use of idioms in speech, to improve skills and abilities of in-depth linguistic analysis of phraseological units from the perspective of the functional-parametric approach. The subject of the course is phraseological units of the modern Russian language. The discipline fosters in students a comprehensive understanding, based on contemporary scientific concepts, of the phraseological fund of the Russian language, the principles of the organization of phraseological units, expands and deepens knowledge of the pragmatic conditions for the use of phraseological units in speech, improves skills and abilities in the theoretically grounded analysis of phraseological units of the Russian language.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Practical classes, independent study.
Teaching methods: problem-based learning, inquiry-based learning, theoretical-practical methods, and conscious-practical methods. Illustrative methods. Independent study using scientific and reference literature. Interactive methods: informational, cognitive-motivational, and regulatory.
Assessment methods and criteria
Oral answers, participation in discussions, written homework assignments, independent study, and module exams. Specific grading criteria are outlined in the course syllabus.
