PLO 5. Collaborate with colleagues, representatives of other cultures and religions, supporters of different political views. PLO 6. Use information and communication technologies to solve complex specialized problems and professional activities problems. PLO 7. Understand the main philology problems an approach to solving them using appropriate methods and innovate approaches. PLO 10. Know Ukrainian literary language norms and be able to apply them in practical activities. PLO 25. Organize the process of teaching Ukrainian language for foreigners, considering the appropriate teaching methodology basics.

Full-time form

a) the student must have a strong knowledge of the features of the Ukrainian language system in general and individual subsystems (phonetic, lexical, grammatical) in particular; clearly understand the difference between language and speech, which is assumed by mastering the theoretical courses ‘Modern Ukrainian Language. Phonetics’, ‘Modern Ukrainian Language. Lexicology’, ‘Modern Ukrainian Language. Morphology’, ‘Modern Ukrainian Language. Syntax’, b) have the skills to analyze speech material, in a comparative aspect as well, c) be able to use theoretical knowledge in own practical activities.

The discipline is a special course of lectures and practical classes aimed at training teachers who teach Ukrainian to foreign students. The main content of this course is to familiarize students with the process of teaching language as a means of communication forms and content, with the peculiarities of organizing this process, as well as informing about the methods and techniques of teaching Ukrainian language for foreigners, considering its units’ specifics and their functioning rules, as well as of speech activity type that students master during the learning process.

Lectures, practical classes, independent work. Method of problem presentation, partially search method, independent work with methodological and reference literature.

Oral responses, participation in discussions, independent tasks, written and Modular Test Work (MTW). Specific assessment criteria are given in the academic discipline curriculum.
