Learning outcomes
The result of studying the discipline Information and Telecommunication Systems by students is to gain knowledge of a system-wide understanding of telecommunication and information networks, the technologies used to build them and the services they can provide, as well as the principles of network functioning, protocol model standards, basic telecommunication technologies and network concepts.
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
The educational discipline "Information and Telecommunication Systems" largely combines and systematizes knowledge from disciplines such as "General Physics", "Computer Technologies", "Digital Signal Processing", "Analog Electronic Devices", "Digital Devices", "Fundamentals of the Theory of Information Transmission", which are taught in previous semesters. Prerequisites: 1. Know the basic principles of telecommunications organization. 2. Know the methods of researching systems of various natures. 3. Know the basics of the organization of modern computer systems. 4. Know the basic mathematical methods of signal processing. 5. Know the current trends in the development of electronic means of signal processing and transmission 6. Be able to use application software to edit data of various types, find scientific and technical information on the Internet. 7. Be able to "read" block diagrams of complex electronic, including digital, devices and systems.
Course content
The discipline "Information and telecommunication systems" examines existing network and telecommunication technologies, as well as important network elements: communication lines, information transmission and distribution systems, power supply, etc. The principles of construction, functioning of networks and network segments, mechanisms for providing services by them, basic telecommunication technologies; dynamics of network concepts exploration. Also considered and analyzed are the technological features and equipment of transport networks, access networks, internetworks, networks of enterprises and institutions. Considerable attention is paid to network standards and issues of correct, professional terminology.
