Learning outcomes
To know modern models of state information policy. Information security as a key focus of the information policy of the state and the citizen; The place of the information policy and information security in the implementation process of the state foreign policy. To be able to use fact-checking tools, OSINT, verifications to work with information for further use in diplomatic practice; to apply knowledge and skills to prepare the media content on the counter information attacks in the planning and implementation of the state foreign policy; identify different ways of the destructive information influence in order to destroy and discredit the state foreign policy; verify information from open sources (traditional and New Media) used by the diplomatic agency or mission. To do researches in teams, directly through communication, of individual examples of information attacks using pre-agreed methods of collecting and processing data information.
Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. To know the theoretical principles of the information society as a phenomenon of civilization, the basics of information and communication activities of diplomatic agencies. 2. To be able to analyze the dynamics of international and diplomatic relations taking into account a set of information and communication factors that affect the activities of Government agencies. 3. To have basic skills to work with information sources of various types, political analysis, analysis of international situations and forecasting.
Course content
Content module 1. Topic 1. Information policy as a component of modern international relations. The role of international organizations Topic 2. Models and approaches of states to solve information policy problems Topic 3. Information policy of Ukraine under the conditions of hybrid aggression of Russia (experience of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, Antiterrorist operation (ATO) / Joint Forces Operation) Topic 4. Cyberspace as a dimension of inter-state rivalry Content module 2. Topic 5. Fact-checking tools and OSINT in the implementation of information security tasks Topic 6. Media as a source of information threat: methods of detection and counteraction (post-truth, hate speech, misinformation) Topic 7. Media literacy as a basic level of counteracting information destructive influences (RT/ Sputnik, bot farms, trolling)

Assessment methods and criteria
1. Oral answers, comments, blitz poll, discussion – up to 40 points. 2. Tasks for l work (case study presentation) – up to 30 points. 3.Control work – up to 30 points.
