Learning outcomes
The student must know and understand the main theoretical concepts, models and categories of microeconomics; the mechanism of decision-making by subjects of market relations - individuals, households, enterprises, organizations; maximizing the company's profit in the short-term and long-term periods in different types of markets; basic methods of economic research and calculations. The student must be able to apply the basic methods of microeconomic research and calculations for the analysis of consumer choice, company activity, functioning of various types of commodity and resource markets and the economy as a whole; solve special and complex problems in microeconomics; carry out an independent search, choose and critically apply the provisions of microeconomic theories and concepts for research and explanation of processes in the field of economic activity.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Having a complete general secondary education; Knowledge of basic general scientific concepts from philosophy and economic theory. The ability to operate the conceptual and categorical apparatus of philosophy and economic theory, to analyze social and economic phenomena, to make reasonable conclusions and generalizations. Possession of elementary skills of independent search and critical processing theoretical and empirical sources.
Course content
The educational discipline "Microeconomics" is one of the sections of economic theory and aims to study the mechanism of decision-making by subjects of market relations in conditions of limited resources in order to maximize their own benefit. The course consists of the following sections: the basics of microeconomic analysis, the model of consumer behavior, household demand, production, costs of production, the market of perfect competition, the market of pure monopoly, the market of monopolistic competition and oligopoly, the firm's demand for resources, the supply of labor and capital, natural resource markets, partial and general market equilibrium, social welfare theory, market failures and public goods.

Assessment methods and criteria
- semester assessment 60 points maximum / 36 points minimum: - final assessment in the form of an exam: maximum assessment – 40 points, cut-off assessment – 24 points. The exam is held in written form, consists of theoretical questions, definition of key categories, tests, calculation task. To receive an overall positive grade in the discipline, the grade for the exam cannot be less than 24 points. The final number of points for the discipline (maximum 100 points) is determined as the sum of points for systematic work during the semester and the results of the exam.
