Learning outcomes
PLO 1. Evaluate one's own educational and scientific and professional activities, build and implement an effective strategy of self-development and professional self-improvement.
PLO 4. To assess and analyze critically vital social, individual and professional issues and offer tactics for their resolution, in difficult and unpredictable conditions, which require the application of new approaches and forecasting.
PLO 5. To find optimal ways for effective interaction in the professional community and with representatives of other professional groups at various levels.
PLO 6. To use knowledge on expressive, emotive, logical language means and speech techniques, principles of intercultural management in order to achieve an intended pragmatic result and organize successful communication.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Prior to studying this course, students should be familiar with the main stages and characteristics of the socio-cultural process, as well as the role of ethics among philosophical disciplines.
2. They should be able to gather and interpret information about cultural phenomena, cultural processes, and events, identify relevant socio-cultural issues, and justify principles and approaches to their resolution.
3. Students should possess basic skills in scientific research and information management, demonstrate a critical attitude and the ability to forecast political, economic, and cultural-artistic events and phenomena, and effectively utilize foreign-language academic resources.
Course content
The discipline aims to shape an educated professional who is ethically competent and morally oriented towards conscientious, conscious, and ethically balanced professional performance. It defines the subject field of applied, professional, and corporate ethics, their place in the structure of ethical knowledge, the specifics of ethical regulation of professional activities, and the ethical dimensions of professionalism. It clarifies the mission and structure of ethical infrastructure as a tool for managing values in professional and corporate activities, models and functions of ethical departments and ethical documents, including the ethical code, ethical monitoring, and ethical auditing as a means of monitoring ethical activities. The foundations of corporate culture and moral standards of organizational activities are elucidated. The basics of corporate social responsibility are identified. The peculiarities of social and normative moral specifications in various professional practices are examined, including the foundations of pedagogical ethics, its structure and subject field. Attention is given to university ethics and the value dynamics of university life in cultural-historical development, as well as the mission of the university in contemporary socio-cultural practices. The values and normative foundations of scientific activity, the ethical dimensions of the relationship between ethics and technology, and the specifics of social responsibility in science are explored. The values underlying translation and the norms and principles of translation ethics are highlighted.
