Learning outcomes
PLO 2. To demonstrate an adequate level of mastery of national and foreign languages to perform written and spoken communication, namely in the situations of professional and academic communication; to present the results of their studies in these national and foreign languages. PLO 5. To find optimal ways for effective interaction in the professional community and with representatives of other professional groups at various levels. PLO 6. To use knowledge on expressive, emotive, logical language means and speech techniques in order to achieve an intended pragmatic result and organize successful communication. PLO 16. To use specialized conceptual knowledge in a chosen linguistic field to solve complex tasks and issues, which require updates and integration of knowledge, often under conditions of incomplete or lacking information and contradictory requirements. PLO 19. To detect systemic interlingual differences and take them into account in translation practice.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
The course “Communicative Strategies of French” is based on a cycle of disciplines of professional and practical training, in particular “The French Language and Translation”, “The French Language, Linguistic and Cultural Aspects of Translation”, “The French Language and Translation in the Field of Business Communication” or “Bilateral Interpreting and the Basics of Shorthand Practice (French language)”, “Translation of Specialized Texts (French)”, “The French Language in Professional Communication”, as well as theoretical disciplines in linguistics and translation studies. Students should have an advanced level of French in order to master the discipline, implement written and oral communication in situations of professional and scientific communication before starting this course.
Course content
The subject of study of the academic discipline is language means of communication aimed at achieving a communicative goal using modern language, as well as taking into account all available components of communication (physical, physiological, psychological, social, contextual, situational, etc.). The main attention is focused on the language implementation of strategies and tactics in different types of language communication, primarily in the practice of foreign language oral communication. Students continue to learn new lexical items based on the material of modern authentic texts, non-fiction and fiction. The discussion of theoretical material is combined with the analysis of texts of various functional styles and genres and different types of creative oral and writing activities.

Planned learning activities: 1. Oral reports, quizzes. 2. Written assignments (essay, articles). 3. Presentation preparation. 4. Presentation delivery. 5. Tests. 6. Translations. Teaching methods: interactive, analysis and synthesis, multimedia, structural, ludic, creative-heuristic.
Assessment methods and criteria
The maximum score for the term is 100 points. In particular: - oral reports, quizzes – max. 30 points; - written assignments (essays, articles) – max. 30 points; - presentations – max. 20 points; - final module test: test + translation – max. 20 points; There is no final assessment. Midpoint evaluation.
