Learning outcomes
PLO 11. Know the principles, technologies and techniques necessary to produce oral and written texts of different genres and styles in Ukrainian, Spanish and English. PLO 14. Use Spanish and English in oral and written form, in different genre-stylistic varieties and registers of communication (official, unofficial, neutral), to solve communicative tasks in everyday, social, educational, professional, scientific spheres of life. PLO 15. Carry out linguistic, literary and translation analysis of texts of various styles and genres. PLO 21. Interpret, abstract, annotate and adequately translate (from Spanish, English and Ukrainian) oral and written texts of various styles and genres, except highly specialized ones. PLO 28.1 Demonstrate the ability to implement communicative interlingual mediation on the basis of the knowledge of linguistic and cultural specifics.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
- Prior to taking this course, students should have at least a B2 level of English and at least a C2 level of Ukrainian and be familiar with the main categories of translation and the general principles of translation and interpreting. - Be able to adequately apply basic translation techniques and concepts in the analysis of English-Ukrainian and Ukrainian-English translation; plan and evaluate own work; use multimedia tools. - Possess basic skills of information management; use of foreign language professional information sources; work with English-language texts; production of complex oral and written communications.
Course content
Along with other disciplines in this block, the course "English and Translation in Business Communication" prepares students for effective business communication and professional translation activities in various areas of corporate interaction. This course introduces students to the basic terms, phrases, idioms and constructions inherent in the field of international business communication, as well as the specifics of their translation from English into Ukrainian and vice versa; develops the communicative competence of future translators in this field, which is necessary for effective communication in the business sphere; activates students' oral communication, deepens and improves their translation skills. The form of final assessment is a test.

Assessment methods and criteria
During the semester, assessment is carried out in accordance with the types of work and the form of control described in clause 7.1 of the program of the discipline (current assessment (oral and written answers in practical classes), intermediate control (project, report, test, translation, presentation), final test). The grade is based on the results of the student's work throughout the semester and does not include additional assessment measures. Students who have scored a minimum positive score of 60 points receive "passed". Students who do not score the minimum positive score of 60 points receive a "fail" grade. Students who have scored less than 60 points in total for the semester must pass the test by completing material on the topics for which they have a debt in the form of translations, abstracts, glossary, presentation and/or writing a test.
