Learning outcomes
PLO 2 Work effectively with information: select necessary information from various sources, in particular from professional literature and electronic bases, critically analyze, interpret, organize, classify and systematize it. PLO 4 Understand the fundamental principles of human existence, nature, society. PLO 13 Analyze and interpret Ukrainian and foreign fiction and folklore, define their specificity and place in literature process (according to the selected specialization). PLO 18 Have the skills to manage complex projects when solving professional problems in the field of a chosen philological specialization and be responsible for the decisions made in unpredictable situations. PLO 21.2 Know literary process in Ukraine and the world of the 20th–21st centuries, as well as the context of literature, in particular, among other types of art.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
A necessary condition for accessing "Modern Literary and Critical Discourse" course is the following competencies of the student: to know the basics of literary analysis of artistic works and theoretical approaches to understanding the specifics of the literary process of a certain period; main characteristics of postmodernism, postpostmodernism, modernism, neo-populism, neo-avant-garde; genre paradigm of literary works; the role of the critic / critics in the modern cultural space; to be able to: analyze and systematize trends in the development of the modern literary process, formulate one's own original conclusions based on collected facts, distinguish the works and creativity of modern Ukrainian writers according to their place in the literary hierarchy, analyze literary and artistic magazines, literary internet portals, blogs, the peculiarities of their functioning in modern critical discourse; to have elementary skills of literary and critical writing.
Course content
The discipline involves mastering the system of knowledge about modern criticism as a branch of literary studies, its terminological thesaurus, trends and problems of development. The purpose of the educational discipline: familiarizing students with the specifics of modern Ukrainian literary and critical discourse, trends in its development, genre palette, main representatives, clarifying the role of criticism in the formation of social, aesthetic, moral and ethical views of readers, in the dialogue between writer (work) and critic - the reader, as well as its functions and their transformations in the modern cultural space, highlighting the issue of platforms of modern criticism - magazines, literary Internet platforms, blogs, their specificity and significance in Ukrainian cultural life of the late 20th and early 21st centuries; about literary and critical genres and their transformations, about the brightest representatives of today's critical workshop, their achievements, skill.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Educational activities: answers during seminars (maximum score 2 points, minimum score – 1 point), individual creative tasks (maximum score 15, minimum score – 10.5 points). Teaching methods: lectures, seminars, independent work.
Assessment methods and criteria
The final assessment is an exam, with the maximum number of points being 40. To obtain a positive grade, the minimum required points on the exam is 24 (60% of the maximum points assigned to the exam). If a student scores less than 24 points on the exam, regardless of the number of points received during the semester, they will not receive additional points, and the overall result is marked as "unsatisfactory" on the national scale. The compliance scale of final grades is as follows: "Excellent" - 90-100, "Good" - 75-89, "Satisfactory" - 60-74, "Unsatisfactory" - 0-59.
