Learning outcomes
PLO 2. Process information effectively: collect relevant information from a variety of sources, including professional literature and electronic databases, critically analyze and interpret it, organize, classify and systematize it. PLO 7. Understand the major issues of philology and approaches to solving those using relevant methods and innovative approaches. PLO 11. Know the principles, technologies and techniques of oral and written texts of different genres and styles creation in Ukrainian, English and two other Western European languages. PLO 12. Analyze language units, determine their interaction, and characterize linguistic phenomena and the underlying processes. PLO 15. Perform linguistic, literary and specific philological analysis of texts of different styles and genres. PLO 19. Have the skills of participation in scientific and / or applied research in the domain of philology.

To know the rules of the academic English language. To be able to work analytically with professional texts. To have communicative skills in modelling written texts.
Course content
The purpose of writing and defending the bachelor's thesis is to establish the actual compliance of the level of educational and qualification training of the graduate with the requirements of the educational and qualification characteristics of the specialty (direction of training). Bachelor paper involves conducting independent research in the field of linguistics. The work is aimed at testing professional knowledge in the subject area and is designed to finally identify the level of mastery of specialists receiving a bachelor's degree, level of knowledge in Englishstudies, as well as skills of linguistic analysis of language material. The bachelor paper tests and confirms the ability to perform linguistic analysis of a variety of language material using the latest research methods.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Thesis drafting includes stages of selection and approval of the topic, consultation with the academic advisor, research material sampling, work with sources and scientific theoretical, methodological and critical literature, planning, writing the paper, appropriate layout and defence.
Assessment methods and criteria
The assessment of the bachelor's thesis consists of three components: 1) assessment of the academic advisor, who fills in the corresponding assessment form according to the evaluation criteria (10% of the final score); 2) assessment of the reviewer, who fills in the review form according to the evaluation criteria (45% of the the final score); 3) grades for the defence of the thesis (45% of the the final score), which is issued by the examination board and entered into the final assessmet academic record, which also contains the overall score as an arithmetic whole of three components (100%). Public defense of the thesis takes place in the form of presentations with the use of various forms of report visualization.
