Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. A successful completion of the Complex Deiscipline “History of Foreign Literature”, “Fundamentals of Comparative Literary Studies”, “Intermedial and Interdisciplinary Teaching Strategies”. 2. Basic skills in literary analysis. 3.Usage of basic literary theory terminology, knowledge of the genre system of drama and peculiarities of perception of drama.
Course content
The course introduces students to various forms of modern interpretations of classical texts of different historical periods, both prose and dramatic, in their stage embodiment. The course is aimed at studying the experience of rereading works of art, their revisions with the aim of embodying the author's vision of artistic reality, finding new forms, actualization of the content of the work, the use of classics in the modern discourse of the "scene - narrative text" relationship.
The course involves the development of critical analysis skills and the ability to independently determine the success of modern interpretations and their aesthetic value. The course forms analytical thinking in the situation of intermedial transitions.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Forms of study encompass lectures, seminars and students’ self-study. Forms of tuition include seminar answers, preparing and presenting essays on a given topic.
Assessment methods and criteria
The final assessment is conducted in the form of an exam. 40 points can be scored at the exam. To receive an overall positive grade for the discipline, the score for the exam may not be less than 24 points. A student is not allowed to take the exam if he / she scored less than 36 points during the semester.
Evaluations of academic progress: answer at the practical classes – min 12 / max 20 points; modeling of lesson fragments – min 12 / max 20 points; writing reviews – min 12 / max 20 points.
