Learning outcomes
PTR 6. To use information and communication technologies, in particular, to solve complex specialized tasks and problems of professional activity. PTR 10. To know the norms of the Ukrainian literary language and be able to apply them in practical activities PTR 15. To perform linguistic, including pre-translation analysis of texts of different styles and genres. PTR 16. To know and understand the basic concepts, theories and concepts of translation, be able to apply them in professional activities. PTR 18. To have the skills to manage complex actions or projects in solving complex problems in professional activities in the field of translation and be responsible for making decisions in unpredictable conditions.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful completion of theoretical and practical courses of the Ukrainian language taught during the first and second years of study (Practical Grammar of the Ukrainian Language, Practical Phonetics of the Ukrainian Language, Oral Communication, Commentary Reading of Scientific Texts, Practical Course of the Ukrainian Language, Modern Ukrainian Language (Lexicology. Phraseology. Lexicography), Introduction to Translation Studies; Practice of Translation and Interpretation (taught in the previous semester). 2. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of linguistics, skills of translation and interpreting from native language into Ukrainian.
Course content
The aim of the discipline is to form and develop the skills of written and oral translation of texts of scientific and literary styles. The discipline consolidates students' understanding of the main problems of translation theory: translation as an act of interlingual communication, features of different types of translation; lexical, grammatical and stylistic problems of translation and the system of translation transformations; stages of translation strategy, causes and types of translation errors, etc. The discipline also aims to form and develop practical skills in written and oral translation of texts of scientific and literary styles.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Learning activities: practical classes, individual work. Methods of work: explanatory and demonstration method. Interactive method (instructional, regulatory). Search, partially search. Project method in the form of working with information. Explanatory and demonstrative method (observation, explanation, etc.). Communicative reproductive and productive methods (speech production based on a grammatical model). Verbal (explanation); practical (preparatory, trial, training, oral, written exercises), visual methods. Familiarisation with scientific literature. Active and communicative teaching methods. Discussion methods: group discussion, work in pairs.
Assessment methods and criteria
Assessment methods: Oral response, analysis of translation results, participation in discussion, translation editing, independent written/interpretation, collection and analysis of information (in written form), exam.
