Learning outcomes
PTR 6. To use information and communication technologies, in particular, to solve complex specialized tasks and problems of professional activity. PTR 10. To know the norms of the Ukrainian literary language and be able to apply them in practical activities. PTR 15. To perform linguistic, including pre-translation analysis of texts of different styles and genres. PTR 17. To collect, analyze, systematize and interpret the facts of language and speech and use them for adequate translation (from Ukrainian into the native language and vice versa) of oral and written texts of different styles and genres. PTR 18. To have the skills to manage complex actions or projects in solving complex problems in professional activities in the field of translation and be responsible for making decisions in unpredictable conditions.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful completion of theoretical and practical courses in the Ukrainian language taught during the first and second years of study: "Introduction to Translation Studies and Basics of Practical Translation", "Oral Speaking", "Written Speaking", "Practical Grammar of the Ukrainian Language", "Practical Phonetics of the Ukrainian Language", "Practical Course of the Ukrainian Language", "Modern Ukrainian Language (Lexicology. Phraseology. Lexicography)". 2. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of linguistics, types of translation and basic translation and interpreting skills.
Course content
The course is designed to introduce students to the skill of translation as a professional activity, to form and develop at the initial stage the skills and abilities of translation and interpreting in communicative situations of everyday and educational spheres of communication. The course material provides practical knowledge and skills necessary to create an adequate written and oral translation from the native language into Ukrainian. The course teaches students to use the knowledge of Ukrainian vocabulary and grammar in the translation process, to apply various types of lexical and grammatical transformations, to use the means of synonymy of syntactic structures, to be familiar with antonymic and synonymous translation, to overcome the non-equivalence of linguistic units.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Forms of learning: practical classes, independent work. Explanatory and demonstrative method. Interactive method (instructional, regulatory). Search, partially search. Project method in the form of working with information. Explanatory and demonstrative method (observation, explanation, etc.). Communicative reproductive and productive methods (speech production based on a grammatical model). Verbal (explanation); practical (preparatory, trial, training, oral, written exercises), visual methods. Familiarisation with scientific literature. Active and communicative teaching methods. Discussion methods: group discussion, work in pairs.
Assessment methods and criteria
