Learning outcomes
PLO 10. Know the system of the first foreign language. PLO 13. Know the norms of the first foreign language and be able to apply them in practice. PLO 17. Use the first foreign language in oral and written form, in different genre and style varieties and registers of communication (formal, informal, neutral), to solve communicative problems in various spheres of life. PLO 34.1. Have a command of modern versions and registers of the first foreign language.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successfully complete the discipline "First Foreign Language in Intercultural Communication" in the 5th and 6th semesters. Knowledge of Spanish at the B2/B2+ level; understanding of the bilingual and bicultural competence of a translator and the cross-cultural nature of translation as a form of interlanguage mediation.
Course content
The aim of the discipline is to develop the linguistic and cultural competences of future philologists-translators from Spanish at the advanced stage of study. It involves the development of skills and abilities to use the Spanish language in various situations of intercultural communication; it is designed to provide an appropriate level of linguistic and cultural knowledge as a basis for interlanguage mediation. The discipline belongs to the elective components of the block "Translation in Intercultural Communication" of the educational and professional programme. It has a specialised nature and is a multi-semester course. The form of control in the 7th semester is a test. The language of instruction is Spanish.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Individual work and work in practical classes: completion of oral and written homework, preparation of assignments for extracurricular (individual) reading, search and presentation of information on topics defined in the program, creative tasks (essays or paraphrases), listening.
Assessment methods and criteria
The grade is based on the results of the student's work throughout the semester and does not include additional assessment measures. Students who have scored a positive number of points from 60 to 100 receive "passed". Students who do not score the minimum positive number of points - from 0 to 59 - receive a "fail". Students who have scored less than 60 points in total for the semester must pass the test by completing at least 50% of written assignments and/or writing a test and participating in an oral interview on the course topics.
