PLO 7. To carry out a description and analysis of the international situation, to collect from various sources the necessary information about international and foreign political events and processes PLO 20. Analyze the international media environment and determine the features of the use of media tools in the implementation of foreign policy interests of the world.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
To know the theoretical principles of the functioning of the information society as a phenomenon of the development of civilization. To be able to work with methodical sources, to have the skills of preparing scientific essays, analytical reviews, to have the skills of public speeches on a certain scientific topic. Possess basic knowledge of informatics, elementary skills of working with various types of information sources.
Course content
Module 1. National print media and foreign policy of Ukraine. Lecture 1. Print media as an element of the national and global media system: peculiarities of formation and functioning. Print media as an object of research: the history of the formation of the national press. Lecture 2. Printed editions in Ukrainian lands: national progress. Lecture 3. Current state of print media development in the world: trends and prospects. Lecture 4. The press of modern Ukraine: state, development prospects, political and social status. Modular work. Module 2. World print media and international communications. Lecture 5. Modern British press in the structure of international media communications. Lecture 6. The press of the United States of America: newspapers - The Wall Street Journal, International Herald Tribune, The New York Times; magazines - Time, National Geographic, Vogue. Lecture 7. European printed mass media: the press of Germany, France, Italy, Poland: newspapers - El Pais, Die Zeit, Corriere della Sera, Liberation, Gazeta Wyborcza; magazines - Paris Match, Spigel, Focus. Lecture 8. Press of China and Japan: national brands and features. Lecture 9. The market of Russian state printed media: the press and the political system. Control module work.

Assessment methods and criteria
Forms of assessment: the level of achievement of all planned learning outcomes is determined by the results of student work in seminars, the quality of preparation of written independent, tests, case studies, presentations, and individual presentations. Semester assessment is carried out in the form of testing of knowledge and skills: activity and quality of speeches, reports at seminars, participation in discussions, quality of prepared presentations, activity in discussing reports and subject discussions - up to 50 points (on average up to 10 points per seminar, at least 5 seminars, 5x10 = 50 points), the threshold level of positive evaluation - 35 points. Test module work - up to 30 points. Modular work is accepted in due time.
