Prerequisites and co-requisites
Students should to know the peculiarities of the functioning and development of modern society, politics and power, human interaction with social and political institutions; to be able to collect and interpret information about the phenomena and phenomena of socio-political processes, to apply basic concepts in the critical understanding of events taking place in the modern world political process; have elementary skills of scientific research and information management; critical attitude and forecasting regarding political, economic, cultural events and phenomena; use of information sources.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to acquaint students with the peculiarities of the development of national political thinking, with the paradigms of Ukrainian political thought, to develop in students an understanding of modern political processes and prospects for their development. Special attention is devoted to the study of the main stages of the formation and development of Ukrainian political thought from the times of Kyivan Rus to the present day. Based on the analysis of the socio-political component of the ideas of domestic thinkers, it is planned to trace the evolution of their views on political issues.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Verbal, visual, interactive and practical teaching methods: lecture, seminar class, independent work. Educational activities during the semester: tasks performed in the process of independent work; answers at seminar classes; essay; synopsis of primary sources; tests; preparation and defense of the presentation.
Assessment methods and criteria
Semester assessment: The overall grade for the semester consists of points received for classroom and independent work: speech at the seminar - 5 points / 3 points; participation in discussions, additions - 2 points / 1 point; synopsis of primary sources - 2 points / 1 point; written test with open answers - 10 points / 6 points; essay, presentation of independent research - 10 points / 6 points; final test - 20 points / 12 points. The maximum number of points is 100 points; minimum - 60 points. Final assessment: credit. The credit is issued based on the results of the student's work during the semester. If the student scored less than 60 points, he must compose the material on the topics for which the debt arose: write independent test or a control test.
