Learning outcomes
Apply the acquired knowledge and understanding to solve new qualitative and quantitative problems of chemistry. Collect, evaluate, and analyze the data needed to solve complex chemistry problems using appropriate data processing methods and tools. Plan and organize experimental research in chemistry using modern equipment, competently process research results and draw reasonable conclusions. Interpret experimentally obtained data and correlate them with relevant theories in chemistry.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know methods of sample preparation using physical processes; methods of sample preparation using chemical processes; the most common methods of concentrating organic and inorganic substances 2. Know the peculiarities of solvent preparation 3. To know the empirical and calculated parameters in matters of sample preparation 4. To be able to perform sampling of objects in different aggregate states; perform the most frequently used methods of sample preparation 5. Know methods of calculations by the method of additions; methods of calculating detection limits and determination 6. To have basic approaches to the analysis of specific samples (pharmaceutical objects, food products, environmental objects, etc.) 7. To have the most frequently used methods of sample preparation.
Course content
Introduction to sample preparation in chromatography. Sampling Methods of sample preparation using mechanical processes Quantitative characteristics of evaluation of sample preparation Classification of solid-phase extraction methods, application examples Methods of evaluating the effectiveness of solid-phase extraction. Separation by the method of thin-layer chromatography. Solvent extraction and concentration methods Derivatization Preparation of solvents in high performance liquid chromatography. Peculiarities of preparing samples of polymeric nature, biological matrices, food products Sample preparation methods for determining volatile organic compounds Purification of organic compounds after their extraction.

Assessment methods and criteria
Semester control includes work in practical classes, including oral examinations, tests and surveys on the topics of tests. Evaluation is carried out on a 100-point system. The maximum / minimum number of points that can be obtained by a student during the semester assessment is 100 points / 60 points.
