            The student must:
Know: historical milestones in the development of social work practice; content and tasks of social work; methods of social work and socio-pedagogical activities; normative and legal regulation of social and pedagogical activity base.
Be able:
- to analyze the social processes of social work formation and development as a science, socio-pedagogical practice;
- to work in a group, use time wisely, clearly distribute assignments to get the maximum result;
- to navigate the search engines of global computer networks;
- to choose information resources according to the developed or specified criteria;
- to critically analyze the information received, highlight the most important;
- to correlate and systematize the acquired knowledge and practical experience on the research question.
Have the skills of application in practical situations of knowledge in the subject area and understanding of the professional activity.   
        
    
            Course content
        
        
            The discipline is designed to acquaint students with the peculiarities of the scientific search for answers to questions within the professional field. The purpose of the discipline is to form students' knowledge of the essence of scientific work, principles and methods of scientific research, preparing students for the organization and conduct of independent research on socio-pedagogical activities.
The content of the discipline is revealed in two modules. The first module «The essence and general characteristics of scientific socio-pedagogical research» considers general information about scientific research and methodology of socio-pedagogical research. The second module «Methods of socio-pedagogical research» presents the basic and additional methods of socio-pedagogical research.
An important place in the discipline is given to the acquisition of practical skills in organizing and conducting their socio-pedagogical research.

            Assessment methods and criteria
        
        
            Assessment of students is carried out during all types of classes and for the results of independent work.
The minimum number of scores that can be scored per semester and required for admission to the exam – 36 scores, the maximum number of scores that a student can score for work during the semester – 60 scores (of which: survey, discussions – 10 scores (2-4 scores each); practical tasks – 10 scores (2-4 scores each); test – 10 scores; modular tests – 20 scores; self-assessment – 10 scores).
Final assessment – exam (maximum – 40 scores, minimum – 24 scores).
Grading scheme:
-	Excellent (90-100 scores)
-	Good (75-89 scores)
-	Satisfactory (60-74 scores)
