Learning outcomes
The purpose of the discipline is to familiarize students with the main content, features and components of the rational organization of modern diplomatic and consular work of foreign diplomatic missions; with the concepts of diplomatic documents and diplomatic correspondence, the principles and forms of diplomatic communication. acquisition by students of necessary basic knowledge and skills of work in the central state bodies in the field of realization of foreign policy of Ukraine and practical skills of professional diplomatic activity in foreign bodies of foreign relations of the state
Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Have general knowledge of the history of international relations and the history of Ukraine in particular. 2. Be able to analyze the dynamics of interstate diplomatic cooperation. 3. Possess basic skills of political analysis, analysis of international situations and forecasting.
Course content
Topic 1. The concept of diplomacy and diplomatic service. The system of foreign relations. Topic 2. Establishment of diplomatic relations and opening of diplomatic missions. Topic 3. Diplomatic representation: structure and functions. Topic 4. Diplomatic privileges and immunities. Sectoral diplomacy. Topic 5. Establishment of consular relations. Opening of consular offices. Topic 6. Consular functions. Consular privileges and immunities. Topic 7. Special missions as a tool of diplomacy. The practice of multilateral diplomacy. Topic 8. Methods and means of diplomatic communication
