            Course content

The course of the discipline provides information on the laws of formation, transformation or destruction of mineral individuals and aggregates; modern approaches and theories regarding the initiation of growth, the transformation of minerals, as well as typomorphic features and associations of minerals that make up rocks and ores of various origins are considered. The purpose of the discipline is to acquaint students with the basic concepts of genetic mineralogy, to expand and deepen students' knowledge in the field of modern science of mineral genesis, which is the basis of the theory of mineral, rock, ore formation processes.

            Semester assessment:
1) Control work from content module 1 (test/written work) - max 10 points / min 6 points
2) Control work from content module 2 (test/written work) - max 10 points / min 6 points
3) Survey / test / assessment for the performance of laboratory work - max 10 points / min 6 points
4) Report (presented in the form of an oral presentation and accompanying essay) - max 30 points / min 18 points
The final assessment takes place in the form of an exam (assessment in written form) - max 40 points / min 24 points
A student is not admitted to the exam if he scored less than 20 points during the semester. The exam grade cannot be less than 24 points to receive an overall positive grade for the course. Final assessment in the form of an exam is mandatory.
