Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of the disciplines "Chinese language: basic level", "Chinese linguistic and cultural studies", "Foreign Literature", etc.; 2. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of literary criticism. 3. Proficiency in the methodology of literary and linguistic analysis. 4. Ability to analyze the work in terms of chronological affiliation, pictorial and expressive means, linguistic features, thematic and stylistic orientation.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to involve students of Oriental studies in the literary and aesthetic values ​​of the East, to get acquainted with the peculiarities of the literary process in China and to educate them in practical ability to analyze various genres of prose and poetry. In practice, the principles and methods of literary and philological analysis of fictional and philosophical works course of of Oral and Ancient Chinese Literature are mastered on specific historical and literary writings and samples of poetry and prose of China. The discipline "Oral and Ancient Literature of China" is one of the obligatory components, i.e. Part 1, of the complex discipline "History of Chinese Literature".

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course provides the following forms of training: lectures and seminars conducted using interactive teaching methods, and individual work. The main types of activities and, accordingly, the objects of semester control are: classroom activities, answers during seminars, presentations on case studies, module tests. Detailed planned educational activities and teaching methods are presented in the work program of the discipline, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the mastered material, including theoretical training, which is 40% of the total assessment, and practical training, which is 60% of the total assessment. The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student for classroom activities and for individual work. The minimum score for the semester is 36 points, while the maximum score equals 60. Final assessment: the exam, which is conducted in the form of written work, the examination ticket consists of three tasks: 2 theoretical questions with open answers, each of which is evaluated with 15 points; 1 practical task (fiction analysis), which is evaluated with a maximum of 10 points. Criteria for semester and exam assessment are presented in the work program of the discipline, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
