PLO 1 Communicate fluently in English on professional issues with specialists and non-specialists, use English for the organization of effective intercultural communication. PLO 2 Work effectively with information: select necessary information from various sources, in particular from professional literature and electronic bases, critically analyze, interpret, organize, classify and systematize it. PLO 3 Organize the process of learning and self-education. PLO 4 Understand the fundamental principles of human existence, nature, society. PLO 5 Cooperate with colleagues, representatives of other cultures and religions, supporters of different political views, etc.

"1.Before starting this course, students should be familiar with the fundamental stages and characteristics of the social and political process. 2.Students should have the ability to collect and interpret information regarding phenomena and events in politics, social and political processes, and events. 3.Students should pocess basic skills of scientific research and information management as well as critical analysis and forecasting regarding political, economic, and cultural events and phenomena."

The course "Social-Political Studies" is a part of the compulsory course cycle. It is aimed at cultivating understanding of the distinctive features of contemporary Ukrainian society, politics, and governance within a comparative context as well as exploring the specifics of sociological and political knowledge about the issues and trends in the development of society, politics, and governance. The subject encompasses the functioning and evolution of modern society, politics, and governance, the interaction of individuals with social and political institutions, and the particular characteristics of contemporary Ukrainian society when viewed in a comparative context.

Educational activities: oral response, analytical research, final test. Teaching methods: lectures, seminars, consultations, independent work.

"The semester score is determined by the points accumulated by the student throughout the course. The final grade for the semester comprises points obtained for classroom activities (oral answers, presentations) and independent assignments (analytical reviews of sources, writing analytical overviews, and presentations). All types of work throughout the semester are totaled: - maximum of 80 points - minimum of 48 points. In case of absence during seminars, the student is required to complete the assignment in the written form – essay, analytical overview of sources, and analytical research. Final tests – LO 1.1, 1.2, 2.1, 2.4, 4.1, 4.2 – are graded for 6/10 points each (totaling minimum of 12 and maximum of 20 points). The final score for the discipline (maximum 100 points) is calculated as the sum of points for systematic work throughout the semester considering final test."
