Course content
The aim of the course is to study the basics, origins, and stages of the formation of the Ukrainian literary system, taking into account genre-stylistic and ideological-thematic features, as well as the historical-cultural context. This course is the first and the fundamental one in the Complex Course "History of Ukrainian Literature". Therefore, the main focus of the course is directed towards students acquiring knowledge of book literature as a system, based on the significance of the Bible as the founder of book religion – Christianity, and the cultural interaction of Rus with neighboring states. Another important focus of this course is the in-depth mastery of knowledge about the adaptation of the book tradition of the Christian European area by the Rus (Ukrainian) literature in genre-stylistic and ideological-thematic aspects to national traditions.
