PLO 2. Process information effectively: collect relevant information from a variety of sources, including professional literature and electronic databases, critically analyse and interpret it, organize, classify and systematize it.
PLO 8. Know and understand the system of language, the general properties of literature as the art of word, the history of English language and literature, be able to apply this knowledge in professional activities.
PLO 13. Analyse and interpret works of Ukrainian and foreign fiction and oral folk art, to determine their particularities and place in the literary process.
PLO 15. Perform linguistic, literary and translation analysis of texts of different styles and genres.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Before starting this course, students should know the periodization of the literary process in Ukrainian literature; basics of literary analysis of works of art; the history of Ukrainian literature at the level of the school curriculum.
Be able to systematize literary facts and phenomena, give them an objective assessment; operate the literary terminological apparatus; orally and in writing to formulate own thoughts and judgments based on previously acquired theoretical knowledge.
Course content
Purpose: to acquaint students with the main trends of the modern literary process in Ukraine; contribute to the formation of a system of knowledge about the peculiarities of the development of Ukrainian literature and its connections with the world cultural context; to form an awareness of the uniqueness, diversity and self-sufficiency of Ukrainian literature.
Abstract: Discipline "Ukrainian literature kin. XX - beginning 21st century: genre-stylistic aspect" highlights the main trends of the modern literary process in Ukraine, aimed at familiarizing students with the subject matter, issues, genre features and leading stylistic ideas that were formed in our literary space as under the influence of Ukrainian cultural and literary development itself, and global trends. Within the course, students have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the main trends in modern Ukrainian prose, poetry, and literary criticism.
