The student should understand the specific features of the development of states and international regions in global, regional, and local dimensions.
To be able to disseminate information, ideas, decisions, and own experience in the areas of foreign policy and national security.
To understand the nature of regional international systems, regional security, and the role of regions in Wold Politics.

1) successful mastering of the courses “International Relations and World Politics", "Foreign Policy of European States”, “The Foreign Policy of Ukraine”;
2) the knowledge of the theoretical basis of the contemporary international political process
Course content
Topic 1. Conceptual and theoretic basis of the EU foreign policy activities. Topic 2. The problems of reforming the EU ‘second pillar’: from the Maastricht Treaty to the Lisbon Treaty. Topic 3. Evolution of the EU Common Security and Defence Policy. Topic 4. The EU enlargement policy, relations with the EU candidate countries. Topic 5. European Neighbourhood Policy and Eastern Partnership as the tools of the EU foreign policy strategy. Topic 6. Transforming transatlantic relations. Topic 7. The EU relations with other great powers. Topic 8. The global agenda in the EU foreign policy.

Assessment methods and criteria
The course consists of 1 module. Forms of assessment: the level of achievement of all planned learning outcomes is determined by the results of the student's activities during the seminars, individual and group presentations, tests and credit. The student is supposed to pass by earning a score of 60 or higher, the maximum score is 100.
