Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful completion of theoretical and practical courses in the Ukrainian language, ability to work with fiction texts, successful completion of courses in the history of literature.
Course content
The main objective of the course is to familiarize students with the criteria of linguistic analysis of a literary text, with the peculiarities of organization and functioning of all linguistic and speech means of actualizing the content of a literary work; to reveal through these units the codes of an individual author's worldview. The course examines the specifics of the language of Ukrainian literature, the main aspects of the linguistic and linguistic study of a literary text (prose, poetry and drama), units of text analysis, extralinguistic parameters of the text, peculiarities of analyzing the semantics of the text and its structural organization, specifics of the communicative organization of the text, linguistic and linguistic means of actualizing the content of the text.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Forms of study: lectures, practical classes, independent work. Teaching methods: explanation of new material, conversation, collective linguistic and stylistic analysis of the text, independent work with scientific and reference literature and texts of fiction, search and analysis of information necessary for the linguistic and stylistic analysis of a literary text and discussion of the results of such analysis.
Assessment methods and criteria
Oral responses in practical classes, linguistic and stylistic analysis of a literary text (in a certain aspect), an essay on a literary text, and a final test. See the course program for assessment criteria for each type of assignment.
