PTR 8. To know and understand the Russian language system and history, and to be able to use this knowledge in professional activities. PTR 13. Analyze and interpret works of Ukrainian and foreign fiction, determine their specificity and place in the literary process.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
The student should have basic knowledge of the theory and history of Ukrainian and foreign literature, and be aware of the main stages of their development.
Course content
The course consolidates students' understanding of the main problems of modern, contemporary and contemporary Ukrainian literature. In the course "History of Ukrainian Literature" students form an idea of the peculiarities of the development of Ukrainian literature of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries and the artistic and aesthetic achievements of the new, modern and contemporary periods of Ukrainian literature, get acquainted with the phenomena of stylistic and genre dynamics of literature, the works of its leading writers I. Kotliarevsky, T. Shevchenko, I. Franko, M. Kotsiubynsky, Lesya Ukrainka, P. Tychyna, V. Sosiura, L. Kostenko, V. Symonenko and others.

Educational events: Lectures, practical classes, independent work. Methods of work: Information and communication method, method of problem presentation. Interactive and communicative methods. Search and partial search methods. Methods of observation, comparison, generalization.
