Successful mastering of the disciplines "Japanese language", "Introduction to the Eastern Philology", "Translation Studies", "Culture-Oriented Linguistics", "Stylistics", "Translation Practice", etc.; knowledge of the theoretical foundations of linguistics and translation studies; knowledge of the basics of the practice of Japanese text translation, interpretation skills.
Course content
The academic discipline NND.10.04 "Ukrainian-Eastern Language Translation" is a specialized discipline for students studying in the specialty "Eastern Language and Literature (Translation Inclusive), the first - Japanese"; it is taught in the 7th semester, the scope of the discipline is 3 credits, i.e., 42 hours of practical classes and 48 hours of self-study, the form of final control is an examination. The course is designed to deepen the language proficiency of students, develop skills and abilities necessary for appropriate written and oral Ukrainian-Japanese translation in various spheres of life. The task is to familiarize students with the peculiarities of translating texts of various types as well as foster skills of understanding the translation process in general and its individual stages, which are extremely necessary for a qualified Japanese translator. Self-study of students covers individual study of special literature.
