Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful completion of the following courses: "Chinese Language", "Introduction to Chinese Philology", "Chinese Language Translation Practice", "Linguistic Studies of China", "Basics of Linguistics", etc.; 2. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of translation studies, cultural studies, literary studies and linguistics. 3. Possession of written translation skills. 4. The ability to reproduce the maximum amount of information in a foreign language in one's native language.
Course content
In practice, the basic principles and methods of translation in general and from the Chinese language in particular are learned - on specific types of creolized tests of various topics. The following main questions are considered: 1) understanding of the main types of translation and their practical use; 2) knowledge of basic translation transformations and their productive involvement in the translation process; 3) consideration of the main controversial areas and methods of overcoming them; 4) adequacy of transfer of realities, toponyms and names when translating from/into Chinese; 5) carrying out a comparative analysis of different versions of the translation into Ukrainian and English in order to learn different approaches to solving complex issues of translation of non-homogeneous texts, etc. The educational discipline "Translation of Chinese multimodal works" is one of the components of the comprehensive training of the specialty "Philology (Oriental languages and literatures)" under the program "Chinese language and literature and translation, English language", elective block "Chinese studies: linguistic and cultural studies and translation". Two content modules are distinguished in the discipline: Module 1. Multimodality in the media space and Module 2. Translation of creotexts. Teaching and assessment languages: Ukrainian, Chinese.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course provides for the following forms of training organization: practical classes conducted using interactive learning methods, and independent work. The main types of work and, accordingly, the objects of semester control are: an answer to a seminar class, a report with a presentation, modular control works with open answers. Detailed planned educational activities and teaching methods are presented in the work program of the discipline, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the learned material, in particular theoretical training, which is 40% of the total assessment, and practical training, which is 60% of the total assessment. The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student for classroom work and for independent work; As a result: in the maximum dimension of 100 points, in the minimum dimension 60 points. The discipline ends with a getting a credit, which is set based on the results of the student's work throughout the semester and does not provide for additional assessment measures. Evaluation criteria are presented in the working program of the discipline, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
