Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know: basics of general microbiology, biochemistry, biophysics.
2. Be able to independently apply knowledge of general microbiology, biochemistry, biophysics.
3. Have basic skills in processing scientific literature, solving problems, working with materials and equipment used in the microbiological laboratory.
Course content
The subject of study of the academic discipline is microbiological processes in modern
domestic and industrial wastewater treatment technologies, the role of microorganisms in
the process of wastewater treatment by biological methods, the variety of their types
metabolism and forms of existence in different types of sewage treatment plants under aerobic and anaerobic conditions
conditions, peculiarities of the growth of microorganisms in the presence of xenobiotics and ways of their destruction,
the genetic potential of activated sludge bacteria and the interaction of microorganisms in associations.
