Learning outcomes
PR11. Understand the structural organization of biological
systems at the molecular level.
PR12. Demonstrate knowledge of structure and processes
vital activities and functions of living organisms, to understand
mechanisms of regulation of physiological functions for
maintenance of homeostasis of biological systems.
PR16. Know the structure and functions of the immune system,
cellular and molecular mechanisms of immune reactions, their
regulation, genetic control; types of immunity and
methods of assessing the body's immune status.
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful completion of the courses "Immunology", "Biochemistry", "General
cytology", "Human physiology and anatomy".
2. The ability to independently apply knowledge of biology, biochemistry, cytology,
physiology, immunology and other disciplines, work with modern scientific
and methodological literature.
3. Possess elementary skills of working with physical and chemical and
biological research methods.
Course content
The discipline is a basic discipline that addresses questions about
functioning of the innate immune system, evolutionary aspects
formation of a system of protection of organisms against pathogens in various species of animals and
human, the specificity of recognition at different levels of the organization of the immune system,
multifactorial and multilevel immune system, formation of effectors
mechanisms of inflammation, the role of humoral: cytokines, the complement system, proteins
acute phase of inflammation, endogenous antimicrobial peptides, interferon system -
and cellular: myeloid and lymphoid cells of the body's immune system in implementation
mechanisms of natural immunity.
Study of effector mechanisms of innate immunity as the basis of general
of immunobiology is relevant for further study of adaptive mechanisms
immunity and the student's understanding of multi-level relationships between different
links of the immune system for the formation of effective protective immune reactions.
