Learning outcomes
PLO 7. Understand the main problems of philology and approaches to their solution using appropriate methods and innovative approaches. PLO 8. To know and understand the language system, the general properties of literature as an art of words, the history of languages and literature being studied, and to be able to apply this knowledge in professional activities. PLO 13. Analyze and interpret works of Ukrainian and foreign fiction and oral folk art, determine their specificity and place in the literary process. PLO 15. To carry out linguistic, literary and special philological analysis of texts of various styles and genres. PLO 16. To know and understand the basic concepts, theories and concepts of folkloristics, linguistics, and literary studies, to be able to apply them in professional activities.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful completion of the courses "Introduction to Literary Studies", "Ukrainian Folk Poetic Creativity", "History of Ancient Ukrainian Literature". 1. To know the content of program works and methodological-methodical literature from the specified course, the main models of artistic thinking in the history of Ukrainian literature of the late 18th - 1960s of the 19th century. 2. To be able to professionally analyze the program text; work with primary sources; to have the skills of abstract processing of Ukrainian-language and foreign-language sources; determine the role and meaning of a literary figure in the literary process; critically evaluate literary works. 3. To have basic skills of abstract processing of Ukrainian and foreign language sources; determine the role and meaning of a literary figure in the literary process; critically evaluate literary works.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to understand the most important aspects of the history of Ukrainian literature of the era of romanticism and realism as literature, which with its appearance awakened the national and social consciousness of the people and became a guarantee of the preservation of historical, moral-ethical and national priorities. Attention is paid to determining the place and role of the literature of this era in the context of the studied era, in particular, in the spirituality of the people as a whole and the artistic thinking of the individual. Issues of style, genre, problematic and thematic features, age-old traditions and ideological and artistic innovation are considered. The main trends of the literary process of this era are considered in general sections, the personalities are chosen for analysis who determined the artistic progress, ensured the development of the Ukrainian literary process as an integral component of the European process.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Methods: lecture, seminar class, independent work. Activities: oral answer, participation in the discussion, addition, creative task, presentation (preparation, defense), tests, blitz survey, final control work.
Assessment methods and criteria
During the semester, evaluation is carried out according to the types of work and the form of control (measures). The credit is given based on the results of the student's work throughout the entire semester and does not include additional assessment measures. Students who scored the minimum positive number of points - 60, receive - "enrolled". Students who did not score the minimum positive number of points - 60, receive - "not counted". Students who scored a total of less than 60 points during the semester must prepare material on the topics for which the debt arose, in the form of writing independent and laboratory works, essays, or, if necessary, write a test.
