PLR 1. To communicate fluently in official and foreign languages (English, French / Spanish) on professional issues with specialists and non- specialists both orally and in the written form; to use the languages effectively for cross-cultural communication. PLR 2. To work with information effectively: to select necessary information from different sources, in particular from professional literature and electronic bases; to analyze and interpret it critically; to arrange it and make proper classification and systematization. PLR 3. To organize the process of learning and self-education. PLR 5. To cooperate with colleagues, representatives of other cultures and religions, proponents of different political views etc. PLR 6. To use information and communicative technologies for solving complicated specialized tasks and professional issues.

Distance form

Prior to taking this course, students should know the main stages and characteristics of the historical and cultural process; basic cultural theories and methods of cultural research; know the key historical stages of development of foreign and Ukrainian culture. Be able to collect and interpret information about cultural phenomena and phenomena, cultural processes and events. Possess basic skills of scientific research and information management; ability to conduct research, learn and master modern knowledge, be able to search, process and analyze information from various sources.

The course "Ukrainian and Foreign Culture" is one of the mandatory disciplines for bachelors, created on the basis of the scientific school of the Department of Ukrainian Philosophy and Culture of the Faculty of Philosophy of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. While studying this course, the student will gain basic knowledge of the organizational and scientific-methodological support of teaching Ukrainian and foreign culture, basic knowledge of the prerequisites for the formation, genesis, main stages of development and features of foreign and Ukrainian culture; basic understanding of the main stages of development of world and Ukrainian art, modern scientific concepts within which they are studied, the main artistic trends and figures that determined their development; basic understanding of the history of development and functioning of the Ukrainian and foreign cultural space, its genesis and current state.

Methods: lecture, seminar, independent work Learning activities during the semester: Seminar classes are conducted in the form of oral answers, reports, comments, additions and/or preparation and defense of electronic presentations exclusively on topics, questions and in the sequence determined by the curriculum. The use of demonstrative, graphic, schematic images and materials in the preparation and work at the seminar is welcome.

The overall grade for the semester is formed from three components: Grade for completing seminar assignments (10 classes * 7 points = maximum 70 points). Grade for creative work (maximum 10 points). The final control work takes place in the form of a test in the last week of the semester. The test consists of 20 multiple-choice questions. The grade for writing the final test (maximum 20 points). Students who score less than 60 points on all successfully completed forms of control are given the opportunity to write an additional test and complete their homework to increase their grade to 60 points.
