Prerequisites and co-requisites
The student must know • orthoepic, grammatical, lexical and stylistic norms of literary English, speak English at a level not lower than B1; • basic linguistic terms; principles of analysis of language material; features of semantics and functioning of units of all levels of English; The student must be able to: • apply linguistic tools in practice; • have basic skills in the selection, analysis and interpretation of speech facts; • communicate on linguistic topics.
Course content
The discipline "English" aims to develop students' language competence to use English in a wide range of real-world situations at the interpersonal, professional and educational levels. The course provides students with systematic mastery of basic speech skills (reading, writing, active communication and listening) and mastering a large number of intercultural topics, lexical units, phrasal verbs, regular expressions, idioms, basic everyday conversational topics, which will allow free navigation in today's world. . The course involves the development of reading, listening, speaking and writing skills to the intended level (B2 on the Council of Europe scale).
