Learning outcomes
PLO 2. Process information effectively: collect relevant information from a variety of sources, including professional literature and electronic databases, critically analyze and interpret it, organize, classify and systematize it. PLO 6. Use information and communication technologies to solve complex specialized tasks and issues of professional activity. PLO 18. Have the skills to manage complex activities or projects in solving complicated problems in professional activity in the framework of the selected philological specialization and be responsible for making decisions under unpredictable conditions. PLO 25. Demonstrate skills of using innovative technologies and a variety of translation resources, automated translation tools.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Prerequisites for mastering the discipline: knowledge of computer technology at the level of an experienced user; proficiency in Spanish at a minimum of B1 level or higher; knowledge of basic concepts of computer science, grammar of Ukrainian and Italian languages; ability to use text editors, handle simple tabular data, use computer dictionaries, some automatic translation programs, cloud storage service, programs for watching and listening to audio and video files; understanding of basic search engines filters usage; basic skills in translating non-specialized texts from Italianh into Ukrainian.
Course content
The aim of the discipline is to develop students' knowledge, skills and abilities to work with modern electronic language resources (dictionaries, reference sources, text processing programs) required in translation. In lectures, students learn about the potentiality and restrictions of modern electronic dictionaries, machine translation programs, and the value of text corpora for solving issues and doubts during translation. During practical classes, students learn to optimize their work with text editors, master electronic dictionaries and the specifics of searching translations for precedent cultural phenomena, proper names, terms, ways to mine knowledge from Internet and text corpora, acquire basic skills using machine translation and its editing, as well as subtitling.

Assessment methods and criteria
Assessment methods: oral answers, lecture notes, test, subtitled video translation, machine translation and its analysis. The points during the semester are distributed as follows: oral answers of LO 1.1 - LO 1.2, LO 2.1-2.4, LO 3.1.-3.3: max - 15, min - 9; lecture notes of LO 1.1.-1.2: max - 10, min. - 6; subtitled translation of videos LO 1.1.-1.2., LO 2.1, LO 2.3, 24: max - 30, min. - 18; machine translation and its analysis LO 2.1-2.4, LO 3.1-3.3, LO 4.1-4.2: max. - 20, min. - 12; Test LO 2.1-2.2: max. - 25, min. - 15.
