Learning outcomes
To know peculiarities of gender culture in modern societies, produce and translate by means of media.
To know trends of media development with gender peculiarities .
To be able to work with social information, sociological data, media resources.
To be able to find, analyze, interpret current social problems of society development.
To be able to explain own position and make independent conclusions.
To be able to use modern informational communicative technologies in professional communion; informational exchange; gaining, analyzing, interpretation data for visual presentation of research results.
To demonstrate skills of argument presentation of own point of view, competent and tolerant discussion with opponents.
To demonstrate skills of independent research work, to gain proficiency in new knowledge.
Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. To be able to work with facts, read journalist's publications and formulate ideas in Ukrainian and English.
2. To possess skills for search and selection of relevant information in English; to discuss, represent and debate own position due to particular actual problem.
Course content
The discipline is oriented on professional training with focus on gender research problems, gender balance within Ukrainian media, women's press analyzing, women's movement and feminist critique on different discourses in media and society. The format colloquium encompass discussion, lecture, practical tasks, as adequate to MA students. Lecturing and learning in Ukrainian and English for enhancing professional communication ability, enlarging professional academic vocabulary of media terminology, developing written skills, preparing and delivering presentation.
