Learning outcomes
PLO02 Understanding and knowledge of basic and clinical biomedical sciences, at a level sufficient to solve professional problems in the field of health care. PLO03 Specialized conceptual knowledge, which includes scientific achievements in the field of health care and is the basis for research, critical thinking in the field of medicine and related interdisciplinary problems. PLO07 Assign and analyze additional (mandatory and optional) methods of examination (laboratory, functional and / or instrumental) (according to list 4), patients with diseases of organs and systems of the body for differential diagnosis of diseases (list 2). PLO21 Search for the necessary information in the professional literature and databases of other sources, analyze, evaluate and apply this information. PLO24 Organize the necessary level of individual safety (own and persons cared for) in case of typical dangerous situations in the individual field of activity.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) To know - the basic principles of educational components "Medical Biology", "Human Anatomy", "Physiology". 2) To be able to - apply the acquired knowledge to solve practical problems. 3) To have basic skills of - working with laboratory equipment; working with literary sources; working with a personal computer.
Course content
This educational component is aimed at gaining the knowledge and skills necessary for the qualified diagnosis of human parasitic infestations. Sections are devoted to mastering the methods of laboratory research; study of anatomical and morphological features of parasites and features of their biology at different stages of development; providing qualitative research of biomaterial samples in order to detect human parasites

Performing tasks in practical classes, knowledge of parasitological samples, compliance with safety requirements during practical classes: LO 1.1-4.1 - maximum 10 / minimum 5 points.
