Learning outcomes
Formation of a complete system of knowledge about the peculiarities of material and spiritual culture, economy, ethnic and social development of the population of Ukraine in the early Iron Age according to historical, archaeological, anthropological and other sources; the main trends of the region's development in the specified period; skills to connect archaeological and written sources; awareness of the place of the early Iron Age of Ukraine as an integral part of European and world history.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. To know
- the basics of archaeological periodization,
- basic concepts and terms from archeology,
- basics of typology and classification of archaeological materials;
- features and specificity of archaeological cultures of the territory of Ukraine
of the earlier Bronze Age.
2. To be able to determine
- the main types of archaeological sources and monuments;
- sequence and interdependence of archaeological processes;
- characteristic features of settled and nomadic societies;
- peculiarities of the material culture of the population of the territory of Ukraine in the previous period.
3. Have elementary skills
- works with scientific and educational and methodical literature,
- source criticism,
- analysis and establishment of causal relationships.
Course content
The content of the course is divided into 2 content modules. Each content module includes lectures, practical classes, independent work of students, which are completed by rating control of the level of assimilation of knowledge of the program material of the corresponding part of the course. Content module 1 (СM1) includes topics 1 - 8, content module 2 (СM2) - topics 9 - 17.

Assessment methods and criteria
The control of the student's knowledge is carried out according to the modular rating system. The student's total number of points is formed by the semester points received from all topics of the two content modules: points received for modular test papers; points received for completing individual tasks (in the form of a presentation), points received for participation in a blitz survey, points received for work in practical classes; points received for the final control work (in the form of testing).
Assessment of students' knowledge success is carried out in two forms: semester assessment (tests, practical class, blitz survey, individual tasks) and final assessment (final test (credit)). The total amount of points is 100 points (of which, the semester assessment is a maximum of 80 points; final assessment (credit) - maximum 20 points).
