Learning outcomes
As a result of studying the course, students should learn the elements of scientific research work in the process of studying the sources of reconstruction of ecological systems on archaeological sites, to be able to evaluate the main sources of reconstruction of ecosystems that existed at archaeological sites during the existence of the creators of material culture, as well as in the process of burial, extraction and preservation of archaeological sources. Analyze archaeological sources and research methods of ecosystem reconstruction in archaeology, acquire skills in working with scientific literature.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Before starting the study of the discipline, students should know the main cultural-chronological eras and events of human history; the main achievements of material and spiritual culture in world history; basic methods of research and historical reconstruction in archaeology. 2. To be able to collect and interpret information about processes and events in world pre-written history; apply the basic terminology and categorical apparatus of field and chamber work in archaeology. 3. To have elementary skills of scientific research and knowledge; critical attitude and forecasting of events and phenomena in archaeological reconstructions; the specificity of the program requires the use of foreign language sources.
Course content
The content of the course is divided into 2 content modules. Each content module includes seminar, individual and independent work of students, which are completed by a rating control (test) of the level of assimilation of knowledge of the program material of the corresponding part of the course. Content module 1 (СM1) includes topics 1 - 4, content module 2 (СM2) - topics 7 - 10.

Assessment methods and criteria
The control of the student's knowledge is carried out according to the modular rating system. The total number of student points is formed by the semester points received from all topics of two content modules (points received for modular control papers (in the form of tests); points received for completing individual tasks; points received for work in seminar classes, as well as points which are received for the final control work. The results of students' educational activities are evaluated on a 100-point scale. The criteria for evaluating a student's answer are: • complete disclosure of the issue • the logic of presentation • use of basic and additional literature • analytical reasoning, the ability to draw conclusions
