Learning outcomes
- to know the basics of regulatory and legal regulation of scientific and fund activities of museums - to know the specifics of the museum source, methods of assembly, processing and classification of museum objects - to know the basics of the scientific organization of museum funds - to know scientific approaches and methodical recommendations for preservation and protection of museum collections - to know the basic principles of storage of museum collections - be able to work with museum accounting documentation, describe and attribute museum objects - to be able to carry out measures that ensure the preservation of objects - to be able to determine the meaning of a museum object as a primary source of scientific research - carry out primary attribution, classification of museum objects and auxiliary materials, study of the history of the museum object - drawing up a scientific unified passport

Prerequisites and co-requisites
- to know the basic concepts and terms of the museum business; the basics of Ukrainian legislation in the field of culture and museum affairs; areas of activity and organizational the structure of museum institutions; the role of museum institutions in society; trends in the development of the museum industry in Ukraine and the world; basics of typology and classification of museum objects; - to be able to apply the main terms and categories of museum work; collect, systematize and present information about the experience of modern functioning museum institutions; determine the categories of museum objects; - to have elementary skills of working with scientific and educational and methodological literature, source criticism, use of foreign language specialist sources
Course content
The content of the course is divided into 2 meaningful modules. Each module includes lectures, seminars and independent work of students, which are completed by rating control of the level of assimilation of knowledge of the program material of the corresponding part of the course. Content module 1 (СM1) includes topics 1 - 6, content module 2 (СM2) - topics 7 - 10.

Assessment methods and criteria
The control of the student's knowledge is carried out according to the modular rating system. The total number of student points is formed by the semester points received from all topics of two content modules (points received for modular control papers (in the form of tests); points received for completing individual tasks; points received for work in seminar classes, as well as points which are received for the final control work. The results of students' educational activities are evaluated on a 100-point scale. The criteria for evaluating a student's answer are: • complete disclosure of the issue • the logic of presentation • use of basic and additional literature • analytical reasoning, the ability to draw conclusions
