Successful mastering of the first part of the complex discipline "Introduction to the specialty. Part 1 Introduction to General Linguistics. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of linguistics, familiarity with its traditional and new directions and disciplines, concepts and methods that determine the current state of the theory and practice of language learning.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to lay the theoretical foundations and prepare for practical translation activities, for independent development of specific issues of translation theory and practice, as well as for the study of specialized translation courses provided by the educational program.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Educational activities during the semester: • Answers at seminar classes; • Preparation of a report and presentation of the topic; • Test • Notes of lectures
Assessment methods and criteria
Throughout the semester, lectures and seminars are held on relevant topics, at which evaluation is carried out. Students who scored a total of less points than the critical calculation minimum - 36 points are not allowed to take the exam. For students who during the semester did not reach the minimum cut-off grade level, at the end of the semester, a final semester test is conducted or essays are evaluated on course topics. The maximum grade for additional assessment forms cannot exceed 40% of the maximum total points for the semester — 24 points. The semester final grade is formed by the points received by the student during the semester and the points received on the exam, the maximum distribution is carried out according to the following algorithm: 60 points (60%) - semester control and 40 points (40%) - exam).
