PLO. 7. To understand the main problems of philology and approaches to their solution using appropriate methods and innovative approaches. PLO. 13. Analyze and interpret works of Ukrainian and foreign fiction and oral folk art, determine their specificity and place in the literary process. PLO. 15 To carry out linguistic, literary and special philological analysis of texts of various styles and genres. PLO. 16. Know and understand the basic concepts, theories and concepts of folkloristics, linguistics and literary studies, be able to apply them in professional activities. PLO. 23. To characterize the semantics and pragmatics of rituals and ceremonial complexes.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Before starting the study of this discipline, students should know the genre of Ukrainian folklore, the history of its fixation, publication, research. To be able to differentiate folklore narratives of children's folklore, folk paremies according to genre and species characteristics. To have elementary skills of analysis of folklore narrative, search and abstracting of scientific sources on the studied issues.
Course content
Purpose of discipline – assimilation by students of the main theoretical approaches to the study of paremias, children's and folklore for children as genre varieties of Ukrainian oral folk art. Formation of research skills, typology, classification of paremias, children's folklore and folklore for children. Annotation. The discipline belongs to the list of mandatory disciplines, taught in 4 semesters of the bachelor's degree. In the 4th semester, the discipline is divided into 2 content parts: "Small genres of folklore", "Children's folklore". Within the framework of the first, which is focused on mastering folk paremys, their genre varieties, classification systems, poetics, methods and approaches to their study, the history of collection, research, and their connection with other types of folk art are studied. In Part 2, genre varieties of children's folklore and folklore for children, its structure, poetics, and functions are studied. Approaches and methods of its research, history of collection and publication, connection with other types of folk art, ethnomusicological component.

Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the learned material, in particular, the assessment of theoretical training - learning outcomes (knowledge), which makes up 35% of the total assessment, and the assessment of practical training - learning outcomes (skills); (communication); (autonomy and responsibility), which is 65% of the total grade. The Part 1 assessment forms 50% of the total grade for the semester (maximum – 30 points, minimum – 18), which are added to the Part 2 assessment points (maximum – 30, minimum – 18). The final evaluation is conducted in the form of an exam: the maximum number of points on the exam is 40 points, the minimum number of points (positive evaluation) that are added to the semester ones is 24 points (60% of the maximum number of points assigned to the exam).
